Sculpture Space awards each of its finalists a fellowship to help support them during their two-month residency. We also provide technical assistance, access to specialized equipment and shared housing. The New York State Council on the Arts helps fund general operating support for the Sculpture Space residency program. Stipends for artists are in part made possible with support from the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art. Sculpture Space reserves up to 12 positions annually for New York state artists, the balance come from across the United States and other countries. Since its inception Sculpture Space has awarded more than 500 residencies to artists from 28 countries and 29 states in the U.S. The application deadline is January 31 annually. For a complete list of application requirements, please see the Residency Program section of this website, or contact Sculpture Space. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
