Brass 5.5" x 10.7" x 16.3" Price: $2,950 Soga uses an ingenious method of counterbalances in this piece: the horizontal plane seems to hover weightlessly without visible means of support, mysteriously disconnected from the vertical column to which it must by logic be attached. Elements in the work shift subtly in response to touch or to the slightest of air currents. This disorienting sculpture examines and questions our ideas concerning gravitational pull and our understanding of stable structures. Soga, studio manager of Sculpture Space from 2001 to 2006, exhibits internationally and has garnered a number of prestigious awards including the Grand Prize at the 13th International Art Exhibition of Japan. His work is in museums and public places throughout Japan and the United States.
Homer Glenn – Untitled, n.d.
Bronze 16.5" x 4.2" x 8.5" Price: $2,950 Glenn’s bold Modernist piece is remarkable in part for its masterful blending of angular and curvilinear line. Suggesting dancers in a fluid pas de deux, also hinting at flora inspiration —a molten pair of fleurs de lys—the rich patina of the surfaces and strong geometric elements in the piece bring to mind the early 20th century Vorticist style, an offshoot of the Futurism movement. Signed by the artist on the base. * Prices do not include shipping and handling
