Christa Erickson weaves together combinations of video, tactile materials, electronics, and computer controls to create "cinematic devices" that often examine personal and cultural memory in the information age. At Sculpture Space she expanded her repertoire of metal and casting capabilities to produce a series of more sculptural devices. Currently Erickson is the Director for Digital Arts, Culture, and Technology at SUNY Stony Brook, NY. She earned her M.F.A from the University of San Diego, CA, a B.A in Art (sculpture), cum laude, from the University of Texas, Austin and a BS in computer science, University of Texas, Austin.
