The sculptures and installations of Peter Forbes bring the viewer into the world of science fiction and, at times, an imaginary Defense Department laboratory. His often-humorous work combines industrial forms, surveillance equipment, motion, audio and light. His proposed work at Sculpture Space, Turbo-Bird Life Enhancement Unit, will explore the more positive benefits of technology.
Forbes’ work has been exhibited in the Everson Biennial in Syracuse and the Rochester-Finger Lakes Exhibition at the Memorial Art Gallery. His site-specific projects have been installed in Norfolk, VA and in Syracuse, NY. Forbes, who teaches in the Department of Foundation Art at Syracuse University, received his MA and BA in Sculpture and Industrial Design from University of Michigan.
