July 21, 2015 — The Sculpture Space Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Gwynn V. Jones as the new Director of Development. Funded by a grant from the New York State Council of Art’s Regional Economic Development Council, Mr. Jones will focus on corporate and professional support as well as major gifts. A native of Utica, he is a lifelong resident of central New York.
Mr. Jones is a graduate of Hamilton College, serving as a trustee of a student/alumni association.
He has an extensive career in financial services and corporate risk management, advising large organizations; with a specialty in the non-profit sector. His clients have included The Rose Bowl Parade and The Judith Rothschild Foundation.

All of us here are deeply grateful to the New York State Council for the Arts for this amazing opportunity that will not only enrich our organization but our community as well, by allowing us to enlarge our innovative arts programming.”
A unique cultural resource within the City of Utica, the Mohawk Valley and Upstate New York, Sculpture Space promotes interaction between international visiting artists and the local community through installations in public spaces, studio tours and collaborations with other organizations to realize artists' projects. Up to 20 national and international artists are accepted each year to enjoy two-month residencies, receiving stipends to offset materials and travel costs, subsidized housing, 24-hour access to the studio and technical assistance. The program is in part made possible with support from the New York State Council on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties Inc., area foundations, corporations and generous friends.
