Szilasi’s digital imagery and animations have been based on images ranging from those of the 19th Century photographer Edward Muybridge to mug shots posted on community watch group websites. His sculpture has utilized objects such as plastic bottles, pizza pans, and shrink-wrapped barbed wire. In each, Szilasi draws out hidden attributes and reflects on our society’s values.
Szilasi, born in Dombovar, Hungary, has shown his work throughout Europe and in New York. He received his BA in Visual Arts from the Bersenyi D. College in Szombathely, Hungary.
