About the Artist:
Loren Erdrich is a multi-discipline artist working in video, performance, drawing and sculpture. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Painting and Drawing. In 2005 she relocated to Ireland in order to pursue her MFA at the Burren College of Art and the National University of Ireland. Upon her return to the States in 2007 she completed a residency at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT, returning in 2008 for a year-long staff artist residency. Loren has exhibited across the United States and internationally, both individually and as part of the CultureLab Collective and GalleryELL, Brooklyn. She is one half of the collaborative team Invisible Seeing Machine. The duo’s most recent project consisted of a lyrical-choose-your-own-adventure book, winner of the 2010 Washington Square Review Prize for Collaboration and featured widely in literary and cultural journals across the States. This summer Loren will participate in two residency programs: Sculpture Space in Utica, NY and Art Farm in Marquette, NE. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
