Using ordinary materials, Patel disrupts their usual function so that what they become uncertain or unfamiliar. These synthetic or organic materials are often ephemeral and able to transform themselves. Jaimini Patel received her BA from the University of Leeds and an MA from the Slade School of Fine Art in London. She has exhibited at Seven Seven Contemporary, London, John Hansard Gallery, Southampton and Queens Gallery British Council, New Delhi. She was selected for the HAT Project International Fellowship which took place at Theertha, Colombo in 2007. She currently lives and works in London.
