I am very excited to introduce my new community based project, Trace which will take place on Sculpture Space grounds beginning in the fall of 2012. For Trace I will be planting 3,000 narcissus bulbs along the vanished foundation walls of several demolished homes that once stood along Whitesboro Street in Utica, New York. Trace elaborates upon the ideas of Another House Remembered, one of several site-specific projects that I have created as part of Interventions at 914 Whitesboro Street.
My project, Trace, will be featured on the website, USA Projects, a micro-philanthropy platform for artists’ projects. My goal is to raise $4,100 by May 24 to cover the cost of narcissus bulbs, as well as labor for excavating and preparing the soil. If you would like to help bring this project to fruition, or if you are curious to learn more about Trace, please follow this link to my project on USA Projects: http://www.usaprojects.org/project/trace Sharing the project with others and sending me your thoughts are also very valuable ways to show your support.
Founded by the Ford, Rockefeller, Rasmuson and Prudential Foundations, United States Artists has supported the work of individual artists since 2005. Donating through USA’s micro-philanthropy initiative, USA Projects, supports the work of accomplished artists all across America and is tax deductible.
Thank you! Best, Ann
