Brian Caverly

Brooklyn, NY
Residency: February – March 2006

Brian Caverly creates complex structures and installations that interact with and conform to the spaces in which they are built. Ordinary objects collected in the local environment are fragmented and pixelated to the point of abstraction, streaming together, agglomerating and spreading throughout space. Caverly received a BA in Art from SUNY Albany and an MFA in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has exhibited in “Fresh Meat” at Kim Foster Gallery, New York, NY; “AIM 25” at Bronx Museum of the Arts, Bronx, NY; and “Madison’s Cave” at Keith Talent Gallery, London. A recipient of a student achievement award from the International Sculpture Center in Hamilton, New Jersey, he lives and works in Queens, NY.
