 Anna Mlasowsky

Seattle, WA

Anna Mlasowsky is an artist from Seattle, Washington who has her BA from the Royal Danish Academy, School of Design, Bornholm, Denmark, MFA in Sculpture, 3D4M Program from University of Washington, USA. Anna has also been awarded scholarships from many institutions including the world renowned Corning Museum of Glass in New York.

 

Anna has had her fair share of teaching all over the world ranging from Japan, Germany, Australia and Svaneke Bornholm. While traveling the world she has held solo and group exhibitions and public collections. During these travels she has been featured in publications for her spectacular glass work.

 

Anna uses uncommon techniques and properties of glass to speak to the reality of a materials given value systems based on its historical and cultural associations. She has used this approach to create experiment-driven sculptures, objects and video work in glass. In recent years her work has developed in two directions, deepening her engagement with video and installation to broaden the possibilities of expressions as well as incorporating emerging technologies in her research.
