Elaine Allison & Patricia Bray
Edinburgh, Scotland
Residency: August – September 2006
Elaine Allison and Patricia Bray have been working together on site-specific art projects since 2002. Choosing spaces not generally used for art installations or exhibitions, their combined individual responses to those spaces and to materials determine their method, in a gradual progression. Their choice of media is inspired by the space, and they collaborate with other professionals working in sound, light, photography and graphic design.
Allison has a BA in Sculpture and Bray has an MA in Painting/Drawing, both awarded by the University of Dundee. They are recipients of John Kinross Scholarships and members of Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop. They have completed major site-specific projects throughout Scotland, and they are at work on an art project to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the twinning of Dunfermline with Trondheim, Norway.
