Eve Bailey
Brooklyn, NY
Residency: September-October 2008
Project Description
‘Xs’ includes performance, sculpture, fashion design, prosthetic make-up and video. I will acrobatically go down a structure in the shape of an organic spiral staircase, wearing a white dress with a bustle. Every time my legs will flip back over my head, the bustle will reveal a baboon ass prosthesis. ‘Xs’ is a pun on human vanity and taste for power. Through humor it combines womanhood and a subversion of the advertised image of female model.
