Jayne Lawrence

Jayne Lawrence is a mixed-media artist specializing in sculpture and drawing. Her work addresses gender-specific assumptions Americans share based on information they assimilate as children. Currently Lawrence is combining the sophisticated, thought-provoking elements of her clothing series with the poignant, comical aspects of her early gigantic fruit pieces in a new body of work. A co-founder of the Cactus Bra Space in San Antonio, TX, Lawrence received a BFA and MFA in Sculpture from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she is a full-time adjunct faculty member teaching sculpture, drawing and ceramics. She has an extensive regional exhibition record and her work is in private collections throughout the United States.
