Michael Clyde Johnson (b. 1981, western Nebraska, USA) currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. In 2009, he received his MFA from Hunter College in New York City. His work has been exhibited widely, at venues including Socrates Sculpture Park (NYC), the Bronx Museum of the Arts (NYC), and the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art (NYC), as well as a two-person exhibition at the CAS Arts Center in Livingston Manor, New York. He has been a recipient of the Artist in the Marketplace at the Bronx Museum, a residency fellowship at Sculpture Space, Utica, New York, and in 2010 was shortlisted for the Public Art Fund’s In the Public Realm competition. Recently, he was awarded a commission for a public art installation on Randall’s Island, New York to open in Summer 2012.
