At Sculpture Space Paula Toto Blake produced Behind the Apparent, After Pop Art, which addresses the changes in the perception of the world that occurred after the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001. The work, made from industrial materials and elements used in daily life, shows the festive spirit of Pop Art in contrast with a darker post-9/11 side, which includes violence, uncertainty, alarm and vulnerability. Toto Blake received a degree in Studio Art from Universidad Nacional de La Plata. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the residency program ARTELEKU, San Sebastian, Spain and the International Artist Exchange Program. Her work has appeared in Italy, Spain, France, the United States and Latin America. She lives and works in Buenos Aires.
