 Rosa Valado

Residency: June – July 2006

At Sculpture Space Rosa Valado worked on a 40’x40’x14’ version of Octagon – Transition Between Heaven and Earth, a welded steel structure. The work she completed was exhibited at City Hall in Utica from September 11 – December 4, 2006. A third section appeared in June/July 2007 at the Abrams Art Center, Henry Street Settlement, in New York City. Born in Spain, Valado holds a BFA from Queens College, NY. A recipient of a number of grants, she has completed residencies at Yaddo and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Her work has appeared at Sideshow Gallery and the Herron Test-Site, Brooklyn, NY; ACE Gallery, the Sculpture Center and Anthology Film Archives in New York City and at Gallerie 5020 in Salzburg, Austria. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
